Bella Riza (b. 1989) is an artist and filmmaker based in London. She completed her Masters in moving-image at the Royal College of Art in 2017. Her work explores the representation of memory, cultural experience and personal histories, often in connection to ideas of belonging. Recent presentations of work include Visions in the Nunnery (2022); B3 Biennial of the Moving Image, Germany (2022); 'Not before it has forgotten you', Nicoletti Contemporary (2022); LOOP Barcelona (2021); ‘Displaced Belongings’, PlatformAsia and Videoclub (2020); Tate St Ives (2019); ‘Heartache and Heartbreak’, 4:3 (2019) and New Contemporaries (2018). She currently teaches on the Documentary Film Masters at University College London and leads an online course exploring the relationship between words and images as part of Open City Documentary Film Festival.
