Mareike Schwarz
art historian
Mareike Schwarz works on questions of public art / interest, remembrance culture, and art reception. She studied Economics and Literature as well as Art History in Berlin, Cambridge, Buenos Aires, and Munich. Her master’s thesis on art in public space was awarded the University Prize of the City of Munich. She is currently a PhD student within the METROMOD research group at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich and assistant curator of Eccentric 80s. Recent publications include “Political Agency of Sensory Actions” (in: Kalas Liebfried, Obscure Ambience, Edition Metzel 2021).
