LISTENING - as discourse and practice: Bastian Zimmermann (publisher/editor of Positionen - Texte zu aktuellen Musik) and Anna Schürmer (media and music scientist/journalist) reflect on listening in quotes and concepts - and practice themselves and the audience in 'blind' listening. Both bring 5 pieces of music of their choice (open genre, +-10 min). The audience and the other person listen to these pieces without any prior information - in order to explore our 'tacit knowledge' together in an associative and analyzing way...
In the second session Bastian Zimmermann (publisher/editor Positionen - Texte zu aktuellen Musik) and Nico Sauer (composer) reflect on listening at the border: Music as demarcation of hearing from noise, listening as discriminating hearing, music as demarcation of subcultures, the physical limits of hearing, age differences, acoustic weapons, discrimination of "too high" melodies, elitist listening. The evening begins with a collaborative listening test.
