Front Office - Space for Contemporary Publishing

Font Office Residency #5: April 9–29 2024
 

The residency addresses local and international artists, independent editors, publishers, online formats, research groups and magazines. On a temporary basis we make Lothringer 13 lokal accessible for publishing, production, presentation and program. The residency includes the use of the Lothringer 13 lokal during the specified period as well as a budget for the program on site. 

The 64-square-metre Lothringer 13 lokal with a shop window front is located in the front building of Lothringer Straße 13. As the team of Lothringer 13 Halle, we have used the lokal so far and will continue to use it for programmes accompanying the exhibitions in the main hall, for regular formats such as the Incomplete Reading Group, KNIT or KNOT and meetings of our editorial group Die_Redaktion as well as guest projects. A large part of these offerings take place in the evenings, so the space often remains free during the day. At the same time, space for independent cultural work and visibility is scarce in Munich. Therefore, we share the space für the fifth time for three weeks with actors, groups, editors or producers in order to use the Lothringer 13 lokal mainly during the day for public journalistic production, presentation and events. The space, with its permanently visible display windows and its location as an entrance to the urban art space, is known to residents and exhibition visitors alike and offers opportunities for exchange with an interested and diverse public. 

The space can be used throughout the week between 9 am and 9 pm. Internet, printer and coffee machine are available. Support during public events or supervision of your presentations when you are not on site yourself can be provided by our team for a maximum of 20 hours per week. A project budget of a maximum of 1500,00 Euros can be provided upon presentation of a cost plan and receipts.
