In the music performance Wasser Wasser (Water Water), the collective Gruppe CIS gathers for for a ritual washing. While singing, the artists immerse their hands in water, exploring its states of matter and aggregation. There is no end to their doing, on the contrary. It is initiated over and over again. Anew, anew. The piece examines the phenomena of evaporation, freezing and fluidity through the lens of music. From communal action arises a multi-medial reconciliation with the natural impermanence of all states. Inspired by the ever revolving cycles of water, the artist collective drafts a utopian vision of ongoing renewal and care.

Gruppe CIS’ varying lineup works interdisciplinarily between live theater, performance and film. The group investigates social corporations and their interrelations and tensions with diverse medial settings and societal scenarios. In 2015, the group curated and organized the queer panel The Land after the Rainbow at Württembergischer Kunstverein, at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart and at Projektraum LOTTE. Their serial film Dark Daily Soap premiered at Theater Rampe in 2019 and was shown at Sophiensæle in Berlin. In 2020, the performance Stress was shown at Theater Rampe. The consecutive movie Stress- The Screensaver was broadcast on demand through the website of Theater Rampe.
