Dimitris Bampilis

Dimitris Bampilis ist ein in Athen ansässiger Regisseur und Dramaturg. Seine Arbeit verbindet Realität mit performativen Praktiken, um sich intensiv mit sozial-politischen Fragestellungen und zeitgenössischen existenziellen Themen auseinanderzusetzen. Sein künstlerischer Ansatz wurde durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Pionier*innen wie Marina Abramović, La Pocha Nostra und Rimini Protokoll in Berlin geprägt und stärkt sein Engagement für interdisziplinäre Experimente sowie für das Theater als Raum für radikale Reflexion und Transformation. Bampilises Projekte untersuchen Brüche in Identität, Gewalt und kollektivem Gedächtnis, insbesondere in Krisenzeiten, und fördern einen kollaborativen Prozess, der traditionelle Hierarchien ablehnt. Seine Inszenierungen und Dramaturgien wurden von führenden Institutionen präsentiert, darunter Documenta 14, das Nationale Theater Griechenlands, die Onassis Stegi, die Griechische Nationaloper sowie bei internationalen Festivals in Irak, Deutschland, Griechenland, Kosovo und Zypern.
